Timothy Hawkes, Patron

DR TIMOTHY HAWKES, B Ed (Hon), Grad. Dip. Ed Studies, PhD, FACE, MACEA
Retired Headmaster The Kings School, Parramatta.

Although an Australian, Dr Hawkes completed his secondary education as a boarder at King's School, Rochester in England. He then moved to Durham University where be obtained his first degree. After teaching at Loughborough Grammar School, Tim returned to Australia to become the Senior Boarding Master at Knox Grammar School, Sydney.

In 1989 he became the Headmaster of St Leonard's College, a co-educational school of 1500 students in Melbourne. While Principal of St Leonard's, Dr Hawkes served on the governing board of the International Baccalaureate Organisation and was the Founding Chairman of the Association of Heads of Independent Co-educational Schools of Victoria.
In 1998 Tim took up the position as Headmaster of The King's School in Sydney.

Dr Hawkes has been a strong contributor to educational debate and is frequently called upon as a conference speaker book both nationally and internationally. He has written Duty of Care, a certificate course in residential care which is now the most popular training course for boarding staff in Australia and New Zealand. Duty of Care has also been released in Great Britain.
He has also written the best seller "Boy, oh, Boy" on how to raise and educate boys, and has recently written a series of four books on Learning Leadership.
